The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I often think of the wonderful years I spent at PSU. They were full of education classes, Thespians, Naiads, and various friendships. Sometimes, life comes full circle. I currently work as a math and data support person at North Chevy Chase ES in Maryland. Several of our young teachers graduated from Penn State. Much has transpired since I graduated. I was married on August 10, 1968. My husband, Mel, and I left the following week for his three year military obligation at Fort Polk, Louisiana. I taught in the local schools for two years. Then my son, Philip, was born on Oct. 4, 1970. We left the service in 1971 and settled back in Silver Spring, MD. My daughter, Elizabeth, was born Dec. 27, 1973. By 1976, we moved into our house in Rockville, MD and have lived there ever since. My third child, Jennifer, was born June 16, 1979. I returned to teaching - part time at first - in 1984 and continued to work ever since. In 1998, I graduated from McDaniel (ie Western Maryland) College with a Masters in Mathematics Education. Unfortunately, life has not been all smiles. My husband passed away suddenly on June 15, 2004. I miss him dearly, but my children and I are keeping busy. Luckily, they all live near me, and we see one another often.
